The Ukrainian bakery-café chain has followed recent market launches in Europe and the US with a 1,200sq ft store in Seoul’s Gangdong District
Ukrainian bakery-café chain Lviv Croissants has launched in South Korea with a 1,200sq ft store in the capital city, Seoul.
The brand’s first East Asia outlet is located at the six-storey I-Park The River mixed-use development complex in Seoul’s Gangdong District.
Speaking to local press at the store’s opening, Lviv Croissants Founder Andriy Halytskyi said the brand had adapted its beverage menu to cater to local taste preferences but is primarily serving the same bakery menu as it offers across its stores in Europe and the US.
Lviv Croissants is currently outsourcing production in South Korea to local suppliers but will explore opening a company-owned production site in the country in the future.
Founded in 2015, Lviv Croissants currently operates over 180 outlets in its home market and sold over 12.2 million croissants and served 5.5 million cups of coffee across its domestic store network in 2024, according to its website.
Ukraine’s largest branded coffee chain will face stiff competition in South Korea’s sizeable bakery-café market, where segment leaders Paris Baguette and TOUS les JOURS operate over 3,750 and 1,300 domestic stores, respectively.
Lviv Croissants also operates 11 stores in Poland and has launched in Slovakia, the US, the Czech Republic and France within the last 12 months. Lviv Croissants lists Australia, Germany, Spain and Egypt as markets in development on its website.
