The Thai coffee chain has staked its growth strategy on parent company PTG Energy’s vast petrol station network

Thailand’s three largest branded coffee chains – Café Amazon, PunThai Coffee and Inthanin – all have one thing in common: vast store footprints across their parent company’s petrol station networks.

The business model has enabled rapid expansion for the chains, which collectively operate more than 8,500 stores and held a combined 66% total market share of the Thai branded coffee shop markets at the end of 2025, according to World Coffee Portal research.

But, with the highest percentage of stores across petrol stations out of the three operators at 70%, Bangkok-based PunThai coffee is under greater pressure from rising fuel prices compared to its rivals.
