The change comes as the US food-to-go and coffee chain advances a turnaround strategy aimed at delivering $7bn in sales by 2028

Missouri-based Panera Bread is making major changes to its Unlimited Sip Club subscription programme as CEO Paul Carbone seeks to usher in a new era of growth and profitability.

The JAB Holding-backed operator, which has 2,200 US outlets, first launched the in-store subscription in March 2020, offering unlimited hot coffee, iced coffee or hot tea for $8.99-a-month.

Panera expanded the programme in April 2022 to include its full range of 26 coffee, tea and soft beverages, and has increased its price three times – most recently to $14.99-a-month in March 2024.
