Slow Coffee Festival has grown from 15 exhibitors and 500 participants to 150 exhibitors and 30,000 participants today. Romania is the European coffee market that everyone is talking about, and this is the festival that built it. If your coffee business is seeking growth in Eastern Europe, this is the only place to be
Taking place on 25-27 September 2026 at Bucharest’s Romexpo exhibition centre, Slow Coffee Festival celebrates its 10th edition this year, marking a decade of bringing together producers, roasters, equipment manufacturers, coffee shops and coffee lovers around a shared passion for quality.
This anniversary edition brings one of its most ambitious international initiatives yet. For the first time in Eastern Europe, coffee-producing countries including Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Cuba and Venezuela will participate with dedicated country stands, giving visitors the opportunity to meet producers, discover coffees at their origin, and experience the people and cultures behind every cup.
The festival opens with a dedicated B2B day featuring networking, matchmaking and talks on sourcing, hospitality and market development.
Another major addition is Green Connect, a platform designed to connect producers with European roasters, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations and long-term partnerships.
For international brands considering Eastern Europe, exhibiting at Slow Coffee Festival offers a unique opportunity to connect with a strong and growing market and better understand what is increasingly shaping the region's specialty coffee landscape.
Slow Coffee Festival was created by Artisan Coffee, Romania’s pioneering specialty coffee importer and distributor, founded by Afshin and Laura Roshanian. At a time when Romania had only a handful of specialty coffee businesses, there was no platform where the industry could meet, learn and grow. Rather than waiting for one to appear, Artisan Coffee built it.
Plus, stay tuned for a 5thWAVE podcast episode about the festival and Romania’s specialty coffee market, coming on 17 July 2026.
