Franke Coffee Systems has introduced ActiveChill, a fully integrated solution designed to simplify the preparation of premium iced coffee in professional environments.
While iced coffee can appear straightforward, conventional preparation often involves several separate steps, including brewing in advance, chilling coffee, transferring it between containers, or relying heavily on ice. In busy operations, these processes can increase staff workload and create variation in flavour, temperature, dilution and presentation.
Developed for Franke’s New A Line, ActiveChill cools freshly brewed coffee during dispensing, before it reaches the cup. Coffee can therefore be extracted hot to develop its full aroma and then rapidly cooled for iced beverage preparation. By lowering the temperature before the coffee meets the ice, the solution helps reduce melting and dilution while supporting a more consistent taste and appearance.
ActiveChill works in combination with iQFlow™, which is standard on the new A600 and A800 automatic coffee machines and controls coffee extraction in real time. The integrated process helps operators achieve repeatable results with fewer manual preparation steps, whether beverages are prepared by staff or ordered in self-service environments.
The technology also gives operators greater flexibility to create iced americanos, milk-based drinks and customised cold coffee recipes without adding an external chilling unit or establishing a separate production workflow.
