Subway has laid down a challenge to the UK’s value-focused coffee and food-to-go giants with a major menu investment.

The US fast-food chain, best known for its customisable sub sandwiches, is seeking to cater beyond its traditional lunchtime daypart with a greater emphasis on coffee and breakfast, an updated grab & go menu for travel hub locations and a new dining concept for post-6pm trade.
