Cardiff-based Bridge Coffee Roasters will supply Warrens’ 47 UK stores as the bakery-café chain seeks to elevate its coffee offer
Cornwall’s Warrens Bakery will serve artisan coffee for the first time after striking a deal with Bridge Coffee Roasters, which will now supply its 47 UK stores.
Warrens, which uses Schaerer espresso and bean-to-cup machines across its estate, will serve Bridge’s medium roasted Wild Meadow blend, which is sourced from Costa Rica and Ethiopia.
“Warrens Bakery is a company with an incredible heritage and reputation that recognises that the coffee market continues to grow and innovate. That’s why they’ve chosen to move forward with Bridge and step into the specialty coffee space. We’re confident that Warrens will become even more widely recognised for their in-cup excellence and ethical sourcing,” said James Legg, Business Development Manager, Bridge Coffee Roasters.
Founded in 1860, Warrens is one of the UK’s oldest bakeries and the world’s oldest producer of traditional Cornish pasties. The bakery-café operator has a strong presence across the UK counties of Cornwall and Devon and a growing network of train station sites.
Cardiff-based Bridge Coffee Roasters currently supplies 500 wholesale clients across the UK, including Squires Garden Centres, The University of Warwick, Elite Hotels and Isle of Wight Ferries. The ethical trade-focused coffee roaster also offers equipment and machine maintenance services for businesses, and is a licensed distributor for Sanremo, Eversys and Schaerer.
Its roastery produces around 2,000 tonnes of premium coffee per year.
