The US coffee chain has commenced its eighth round of corporate layoffs in the US within two years as part of CEO Brian Niccol’s $2bn efficiency drive

When it confirmed plans to open a new corporate office in Nashville, Tennessee, in April 2026, Starbucks said it would offer relocation opportunities to dozens of its Seattle HQ staff.

The response to moving 2,400-miles across the country has been mixed.
