The bakery-café chain’s former Chief Operating Officer takes on greater responsibility for outlet expansion as it pursues 1,000 stores in North America by 2030
Paris Baguette North America has promoted Nick Scaccio to spearhead its ambitious growth programme as Chief Development Officer.
Owned by South Korean F&B conglomerate SPC Group, Paris Baguette made its US debut in 2005, followed by Canada in 2023. The premium bakery-café chain ended the first quarter of 2025 with 200 stores in the US and 12 in Canada and has a goal of reaching 1,000 outlets across North America by 2030.
Scaccio joined Paris Baguette North America in February 2020 as Vice President of Revenue and Strategic Development before being appointed Vice President of Operations in November 2021 and Chief Operating Officer in January 2024.
“I’ve been committed to building systems that scale while maintaining our unwavering commitment to quality and community since I joined Paris Baguette. As I step into the development role, I’m focused on how we can continue our growth with intention, ensuring that, as we continue to expand rapidly, every new café delivers the magical guest experience people visit Paris Baguette for,” Scaccio said.
With a focus on neighbourhood bakeries, Paris Baguette North America is seeking to launch its first stores in the US states of Connecticut, Missouri, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Indiana, Idaho and Delaware in 2025, as well as find a master franchise partner to facilitate its expansion to Mexico.
The premium bakery-café chain signed 163 franchise deals and 78 lease agreements in 2024 before adding a further 76 franchise agreements and 20 new leases in the first quarter of 2025. In May 2025, the brand reached one million reward scheme members in the US, a milestone it said reflected increased consumer demand for mobile ordering and growing brand loyalty.
Founded in 1988, Paris Baguette is one of the largest branded coffee chains in South Korea with 3,750 stores. The bakery-café chain operates more than 600 sites across 14 international markets, with the US its second-largest international market after China.
In January 2025, Seoul-based SPC Group unveiled plans to build a $160m production facility in Texas, US, to supply its North America stores and support planned expansion to Latin America. Construction is set to be completed in 2027.
