Caffè Nero founder Gerry Ford has hailed a new era of opportunity for the coffee chain in the US after emerging as the successful bidder for Compass Coffee.
World Coffee Portal first reported that Caffè Nero was bidding for the troubled Washington D.C-based coffee chain in late January.
Court documents showed Caffè Nero initially submitted a $2.9m offer three weeks after Compass filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
