Two of Europe’s largest dairy cooperatives have joined forces to “build the future of dairy together”.

Arla Foods’ merger with Germany’s DMK Group, first announced in April 2025 and completed on 1 June 2026, brings together 11,500 dairy farmers and 28,800 employees, with combined revenues of over €20bn ($23.2bn).

In a press release, Danish dairy giant Arla said the merger will unite each company’s strengths to accelerate change to reduce climate and environmental impacts and consolidate market position.
