Fresh from reaching 10,000 stores in its home market and backed with new investment, Shanghai-based Nowwa is seeking rapid expansion in one of Southeast Asia’s most mature and competitive branded coffee shop markets

Shanghai-based Nowwa Coffee has hit several major milestones within the last four months.

In November 2025, the affordable lifestyle coffee chain made its international debut in Melbourne, Australia, and reached 10,000 stores in China the following month – just the fourth operator to do so in the world’s largest branded coffee shop market.

Strong momentum rolled into the New Year, with Nowwa closing a multi-million-dollar Series C funding round and launching in Indonesia in January 2026. Now, the fast-growing chain has signed its first major overseas franchise deal.
