The coffee chain and its local franchisee Devyani International Ltd are pressing ahead with expansion in a tough market for international operators

UK coffee chain Costa Coffee and its Indian master franchisee Devyani International Ltd (DIL) have big plans to gain significant market share in India’s booming branded coffee shop market.

In May 2025, Costa’s Global CEO Philippe Schaillee outlined a goal for India to be among the chain’s five largest markets globally by 2030.
