Get up to speed with the latest coffee market intelligence from the World Coffee Portal research team. Plus, upcoming Global Coffee Institute (GCI) events, webinars and key dates for your calendar

Our Global Coffee Institute (GCI) programme continues to go from strength to strength, with three brand new improvements for members to enjoy.

Our new interactive Brand Tracker feature now enables you to monitor the top 20 branded coffee chain operators across some of the world’s largest and most significant markets.

With five years of data for each market, you can now view the market risers, fallers, growth trajectories and emerging players from a single dashboard.

The initial release shares information on China, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, UAE (updated every January thereafter), France, Germany, Turkey and the UK (updated every April thereafter).

Australia, Brazil, India and South Africa will be released later in July 2026, with Canada, Mexico and the USA released annually in October.

We’re also introducing six new industry Trend Reports, which explore key topics in detail by combining the best of World Coffee Portal report data and 5THWAVE magazine analysis.

Members can log on immediately to access the first three reports, which focus on Matcha, Disruptive Technology, and Specialty Coffee.

The upcoming report on Coffee’s New Era – an exploration of the rapidly evolving global trading landscape – will be released later in July.

Finally, we’ve simplified how members can access online digital content.

You can still listen live to our report debriefs, industry roundtables and 5THWAVE unfiltered interviews, and you can now also listen to any session at your convenience, whether you were unable to attend live, or even view sessions that took place prior to your membership starting.

This can be managed via the On Demand section of our website.

If you’re not a member of the Global Coffee Institute yet and want to benefit from these new features, please get in touch with me directly to arrange access.

Latest World Coffee Portal Reports

Two years ago, we discontinued our consumer research-focused analysis of tea, iced beverage and food categories in coffee shops – Cakes, Shakes & Tea Breaks UK.

However, having received so many enquiries about when the next edition would come out, we’ve had a rethink! The new report has been rebranded as Iced Beverages, Brews & Bites UK 2026 and expanded to include industry experts’ viewpoints and key topic analysis from the last 12 months.

We also have two brand new reports this quarter. The Coffee At Work Report UK 2026 launches in August, exploring the broad and complicated patchwork of coffee provision across workplace settings. Then in September, we expand beyond our annual analysis of the US market and launch Project Café North America 2027, which will include consumer research insights and analysis from 3,000 US and 2,000 Canadian coffee shop consumers, alongside market sizing for the entire region including Mexico. You can view the year’s full report line here.
