New market launch is a key milestone for the Pretoria-based specialty coffee group as it seeks to nearly quadruple its global store count by 2030

Known for its crisp white interiors, minimalist design and signature specialty coffee beverages, Platō Coffee is one of South Africa’s fastest-growing coffee chains.

From humble beginnings in 2019 operating out of a shipping container, the Pretoria-based specialty coffee group opened 52 new stores last year and now operates 130 boutique outlets, a roastery, bakery and training academy in its home market.

Now, a few months after making its international debut in neighbouring Zimbabwe, Platō is putting the finishing touches on its first venture outside of Africa.
