Unity Coffee, the self-serve coffee brainchild of Costa Express pioneer Scott Martin, has raised £2m ($2.7m) in a new funding round to take on ‘Big Coffee’ in the UK.

Martin soft-launched the automated machine concept in London’s Soho district in September 2025 – a move which attracted 10,000 app downloads and hundreds of customers across a three-day pop-up trial.
