Good coffee is now widely available, whether in hospitals, offices or even supermarkets, but is often difficult, if not impossible, for wheelchair users to access. Seeking to change the game, Schaerer’s Easy Access module has been launched to make good coffee accessible for all
Great coffee should be enjoyed by everyone, no exceptions. That’s why Schaerer is proud to present Easy Access, the new operating concept now available worldwide for the Schaerer Coffee Soul 10 and 12 models. This innovation is specifically designed to make high-quality coffee moments wheelchair-friendly, allowing everyone to prepare and personalise their favourite beverage independently – across offices, public spaces and hospitals.
Intuitive controls for independence and simplicity
The intuitive Easy Access control buttons are smartly positioned at the front of the drip tray, putting beverage selection and machine operation within easy reach for wheelchair users. Navigating the menu works just like familiar arrow keys on a keyboard – simple, reliable, and empowering. This practical upgrade is suitable for both the Coffee Soul 10 and 12 models in self-service environments and can be retrofitted to existing machines by a technician within minutes.
Living the Groupe SEB values – cup by cup
But Easy Access goes beyond technical innovation. It’s a real-world example of Groupe SEB’s ESG commitment – actively promoting social inclusion and accessibility. Making coffee accessible isn’t just a feature; it’s a step towards a more equitable industry.
“A game changer”: empowerment through design
Racing wheelchair athlete and Schaerer employee Licia Mussinelli, shares: “In everyday life, accessibility is essential – being able to get a coffee independently is a game changer for people with severe paralysis.”
Lead in accessible coffee – stand out responsibly
Easy Access is already making a meaningful impact for businesses eager to lead in inclusive service, because at Schaerer, ‘we love it your way’ must mean ‘everyone’s way’.
