The move comes two months after the small-format coffee chain opened its first store in the Netherlands and comes ahead of a planned debut in Belgium before the end of the year

The Coffee has entered its seventh European market and strengthened its Benelux presence with a first store in Luxembourg.

Located near the historic Palais Grand-Ducal in Luxembourg City, the store launch comes hot on the heels of the Brazilian coffee chain’s debut in the Netherlands.

“Luxembourg is a unique market, where tradition meets modernity. Locals value quality, consistency, and personal connection – and that aligns perfectly with our mission of delivering a premium specialty coffee experience with speed and style,” said Frank Maeda, Head of Europe, The Coffee.

The Coffee currently operates over 180 stores in Brazil and a further 100 international outlets across 18 markets globally. The Coffee made its Benelux debut in Amsterdam in May 2025 and also has a first store in Belgium in development, which will open in the Toison d’Or neighbourhood of Brussels.

In October 2024, The Coffee CEO and Co-founder Carlos Fertonani told World Coffee Portal that the business was ‘making a sizeable investment’ to expand in Europe where it sees strong demand for its tech-enabled, small-format store concept. It currently operates 50 outlets across France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands. The group is also preparing a Czech Republic launch with an outlet in Prague before the end of 2025.
