Episode 17: The cold coffee revolution

This week we put cold coffee under the spotlight to illuminate the latest trends in this fast-growing category. We’ll explore how the cold coffee revolution has taken off in North America, and the opportunities for growth in markets worldwide.

In this episode we’re joined by a brewing equipment supplier and coffee expert from Asia Pacific, and two senior figures from leading cold coffee brands in the US. They’ll discuss the popularity of game-changing products, such as cold brew and RTDs, and provide their take on America’s epic love affair with cold coffee.

Danny Pang, Asia Pacific Manager for Marco Beverage Systems, guides us through the different types of cold coffee on the market and shares what the opportunity is for cold brew in Asia.

James McLaughlin, President and CEO of Intelligentsia Coffee discusses the continued growth of cold coffee in the US and the potential for new products and formats to match in-store coffee quality at home.

We also hear from Matthew Swenson, Director of Coffee at Nestlé and former Chief Product Officer for Chameleon Coffee, who shares how America’s grab-and-go culture and highly developed distribution network has allowed the US cold coffee market to thrive.
