The Irish convenience store group has confirmed it will roll-out further Frank and Honest self-serve coffee machines as part of plans to open more Centra outlets as demand for value-focused coffee grows in the Republic of Ireland

Irish convenience store chain Centra will invest €23m ($25m) to open 18 new outlets across the Republic of Ireland, with each incuding Frank and Honest self-serve coffee machines.

Centra, which operates approximately 480 stores across the Republic of Ireland, will also refurbish 35 existing stores in 2023.

Frank and Honest has nearly 700 self-serve units in operation across the Republic of Ireland within parent company Musgrave Group’s Centra and Supervalu convenience stores.

The coffee company uses a combination of Eversys fully automatic espresso machines and Nuova Simonelli coffee machines across its self-serve and its 13-store café offering.

Reporting in its full-year 2022 results, Centra cited a significant uplift in demand for value-focused products, including its Frank and Honest coffee offer.

The company achieved group revenues of €1.98bn ($2.1bn) for the 12 months ended 31 December 2022, with Frank and Honest coffee sales increasing 7% year-on-year.

Frank and Honest’s self-serve presence also extends to Northern Ireland where it is located in over 150 Centra, Supervalu and Mace convenience stores.
