The appointment of Martha Ivester as Global Chief Marketing Officer comes as Joe & The Juice accelerates digital channels development
Joe & The Juice has further strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Martha Ivester as Global Chief Marketing Officer.
Ivester joins the Danish coffee chain after five months as Market Reputation Director at business consultancy Bain & Company and brings more than 30 years’ marketing expertise to the role.
Between 2018-2024, she held several senior roles at Google, including Head of Ads Marketing Northern Europe, Head of Think With Google and Head of Brand and Reputation, Northern Europe. Her previous campaign experience includes launching Microsoft’s first customer loyalty programme in China and leading Nike’s multi-billion-dollar brand strategy at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
Founded in 2002, Copenhagen-based Joe & The Juice currently operates 400 stores across 19 markets.
The coffee chain has been building out its senior leadership team over the last six months, including the appointment of a new Chairman and new Managing Directors for its UK and US operations.
Ivester will work alongside new Chairman Jeffrey Lawrence and fellow board member Jennelle Tilling, both of whom also bring significant marketing experience to the table, to accelerate Joe & The Juice’s digital sales growth. Online orders and third-party delivery services accounted for a record high 33% of Joe & The Juice’s DKK 2.8bn ($423.9m) global revenues in 2024 – a figure that now stands at around 40%.
Joe & The Juice is seeking to open more than 600 new stores by the end of 2029.
