Adding to a longstanding relationship with Illinois-based United Airlines and a six-month-old partnership with Italy’s ITA Airways, illycaffè will now be served onboard all long-haul Iberia flights and in the Spanish airline group’s VIP lounges

Italian coffee roaster illycaffè has been named the Official Coffee Partner of Iberia Airlines.

Based in Madrid, Iberia operates a fleet of 165 aircraft and flies over 18.5 million passengers annually to more than 140 destinations globally, mainly in Europe and Latin America.

As part of the partnership, illycaffè will be served onboard all long-haul Iberia flights and in the airline’s VIP lounges via self-serve coffee machines.

“The partnership with Iberia is an important milestone for us, offering the millions of travellers who fly with the airline each year the experience of superior, sustainable coffee. Being present onboard long-haul flights and in Iberia’s prestigious lounges represents an extraordinary opportunity to elevate the coffee experience at 30,000 feet and in refined travel environments,” said Cristina Scocchia, CEO, illycaffè.

The Iberia deal is illycaffè’s third airline partnership announcement within the last 12 months after US group United Airlines began serving its ready-to-drink (RTD) cold brew on most domestic and international flights over 300 miles. Illinois-based United Airlines has served illy in its United Club lounges since December 2015 and onboard flights since June 2016.

Treviso-based illycaffè also partnered with Rome-based airline ITA Airways in January 2025 as part of a flight and airport lounge supply deal.

illycaffè posted 6% year-on-year revenue growth last year to reach €630m ($681.6m), with EBITDA increasing by double-digits for a third consecutive year, rising 19% to €110m ($119m).

Iberia previously served coffee from Swiss coffee roaster Blasercafé onboard its flights. The airline added new routes to Japan, Albania, Slovenia and Norway in 2024.
