Launching in Prishtina adds to the coffee chain’s growing store network in Southeast Europe, where it operates 260 outlets in Greece and a further 70 across six Balkan markets
Greece’s Mikel Coffee has launched in Kosovo with an outlet in the capital city, Prishtina.
The store, located in an upmarket apartment complex in Prishtina’s Lakrishte neighbourhood, brings Mikel’s global presence to 20 markets – 11 of which are in Europe – and strengthens its store network in the Balkans.
Founded in Larissa in 2008, Mikel Coffee currently operates 260 stores across its home market and a further 120 stores internationally. Alongside Greece and Turkey, home to over half of its international sites, Mikel’s presence in the Balkans also comprises 10 stores across Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Romania and Serbia.
Kosovo is home to one of the smallest branded coffee shop markets in Europe, with just a handful of chains, including Turkey’s Espressolab, Italy’s Caffè Pascucci and Albania’s Mulliri Vjeter, operating less than a dozen stores between them.
Outside of Europe, Mikel Coffee also operates stores in the Middle East and North America.
