Costa Coffee signs convenience retail deal in the UAE

The new agreement comes months after Dubai-based Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) extended Costa Coffee franchise rights until at least 2040, but it will also bring closer competition with Starbucks

Costa Coffee’s master franchisee in the UAE has signed a new partnership with Emirates National Oil Company Group (ENOC) to scale the coffee chain across its Zoom convenience-store network.

Dubai-based Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) was awarded franchise rights to UK-based Costa in 1999 and now operates 160 licensed Costa outlets across the UAE. The group, which also licenses Pret A Manger in the UAEextended its partnership with Costa for a further 15 years in November 2025 – taking the partnership up until at least 2040.
