US drive-thru coffee chain 7 Brew Coffee has surpassed 100 outlets in the US after opening four new stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Michigan and Texas. 
 

The Arkansas-based coffee chain offers a range of customisable coffee and infused energy beverages with over 20,000 unique combinations available, according to its website. 

The four new 7 Brew Coffee sites feature canopied double-lane drive-thrus to minimise wait times and increase ordering efficiency.  

“7 Brew’s record-breaking expansion is 100% occurring because of the Brew Crew team. Whether it’s Florida, Wisconsin, Texas or Indiana, a positive experience is undefeated. That’s what the Brew Crew team creates every day, now in over 100 communities around the country. I’m just thankful to be on their team,” said John Davidson, CEO, 7 Brew Coffee. 
 

7 Brew Coffee opened its first store in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2017. In March 2021, Drink House Holdings acquired a majority stake in the nine-strong coffee chain and began franchising the business. 

The US drive-thru coffee market has experienced steady growth over the last 12 months, with Oregon-based Dutch Bros and The Human Bean, Nebraska-based Scooter’s Coffee and Michigan-based Biggby Coffee all adding stores.

Meanwhile, larger operators are also investing in convenience, with Starbucks, Dunkin’, Panera Bread and Caribou Coffee eyeing growth opportunities in the drive-thru coffee market. 

Although consumer demand for drive-thru has fallen since the peak of the pandemic, the format has maintained its appeal. Fifty-four percent of US customers surveyed by World Coffee Portal in August 2022 indicated a preference for drive-thru over physically entering a coffee shop, compared with 63% in 2020.
