Glenn Edwards is to step down as Managing Director of UK food-to-go and coffee chain LEON this month.

Edwards has worked for London-based LEON since March 2011, including more than six years as Operations Director and three-and-a-half years as President of its US division.

He was appointed Director of Growth & Culture in March 2021 before succeeding Nick Ayerst as Managing Director the following August.

“I’m moving to the very important role of customer at LEON, and excited to get my teeth into a new challenge,” Edwards wrote on LinkedIn.

LEON, which operates nearly 80 stores across the UK, has appointed Grocery Managing Director Ashley Davis as Interim Managing Director.

Edwards departure was planned for earlier this year, but he remained in post to assist in the transition from petrol forecourt operator EG Group to UK supermarket chain Asda.

In a press release following the completion of the £2.07bn ($2.5bn) deal, Asda announced plans to open LEON locations within its supermarkets.
