Costa Coffee has appointed London-based public relations firm Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) to boost its consumer communications across the UK.

H+K’s initial brief will be to promote new product and menu launches and ‘amplify’ the brand’s new ‘Made a Little Better’ - a creative platform created by marketing agency Wunderman Thompson to highlight how Costa Coffee can prove uplifting in everyday scenarios.

Costa Coffee announced WPP-owned marketing agency Wunderman Thompson as its global agency of record for brand strategy in September 2022.

Kate Hopper, H+K’s Managing Director, Consumer Packaged Goods, said the company was looking forward to working alongside other WPP agencies in helping ‘shape Costa Coffee’s brand communications at an exciting time for the business’.

“We’re really excited to have appointed H+K to help add some new energy and creative flare into our PR campaigns. We’ve some fantastic campaigns launching this year and look forward to working with H+K to help drive awareness and build brand love. When we met them they’d done their research and clearly understood our brand and brief, had a considered point of view and relevant experience for what we’re looking for,” added Esme Knight, Head of Corporate Affairs and PR, Costa Coffee.

Founded in 1971, Costa Coffee currently operates 2,700 stores across the UK alongside over 1,100 outlets in more than 45 countries worldwide.
