200 Degrees Coffee has appointed Nicki Jones as new Financial Director, replacing Stephen Fern who was promoted to Managing Director in January 2023. 
 

Jones, who joined 200 Degrees as Financial Controller in July 2022 following eight years as Financial Controller at UK holiday resort group Centre Parcs, will help to implement the coffee roaster and café chain’s growth strategy.

Becoming Financial Director is an exciting step in my career and I look forward to taking on more responsibility and continuing to work with Steve to achieve our financial and community ambitions as a company and a team,” Jones said. 

Founded as a roastery in 2012, 200 Degrees opened its first coffee shop in 2014 and now operates 18 outlets across the UK. 

Following a strong sales performance in 2022, Fern said 200 Degrees is seeking to double its e-commerce sales and boosts its wholesale channel by 35% this year.   

200 Degrees also plans to scale its barista school operations throughout 2023, with the coffee roaster and café chain seeking to incorporate training programmes in 30% of 200 Degrees outlets moving forward. 

World Coffee Portal research found the UK branded coffee shop market grew 4.4% last year to reach 9,885 outlets and is forecast to reach 10,200 outlets in 2024. 

Following 11.9% sales growth in 2022, Project Café UK 2023 forecasts UK branded coffee shop sales will exceed £6.4bn ($7.8bn) by 2028.
