US specialty coffee chain Reborn Coffee has announced plans to open new stores in Southern California and Korea, which will bring its global footprint to 14 outlets.

Reborn Coffee expects the two new US stores to attract California’s younger consumers with a targeted on-the-go and premium offer, including new ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages.

Alongside new outlets in the Californian cities of Pasadena and Irvine, Reborn will also open its first international location in Daejeon, South Korea.

The store will operate alongside a roastery and R&D facility at the 2,000sq ft site, which the company said will dual as the flagship location for its Reborn concept and as headquarters for its franchise programme in South Korea.

“We continue to expand our retail footprint at strategically positioned locations to serve our high quality, specialty-roasted coffee. Looking ahead, we continue to seek out differentiated and prime locations to conduct due diligence and build on our pipeline of new company-owned locations. We are aggressively moving forward on strategically expanding our footprint in existing and new markets in California, the US and globally, and developing our franchise opportunity. I look forward to sharing our growth plans in the months ahead,” said Jay Kim, CEO, Reborn.

In October 2022, Reborn Coffee closed a $7.2m IPO and announced plans to launch in four international markets in the next few years. Alongside South Korea, the company has previously mooted Austria and the UAE as potential markets.
