Coffee roaster and machine supplier Boncafé Vietnam, part of Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group, has opened a new concept store in Hanoi.

The company said the store, located in the capital city’s Tay Ho district, features a coffee bar offering a range of premium Segafredo Zanetti coffee and a showroom promoting Boncafé’s coffee machines and equipment for at-home and business use.

Italy-based Massimo Zanetti said the outlet compliements Boncafé’s existing operations in northern Vietnam, where it currently supplies coffee to hotels, restaurants, cafés, convenience stores and offices.

Boncafé also operates an after-sales service, offering barista training, machine maintenance and repair services to clients.

Vietnam is the second largest producer of coffee in the world after Brazil, with robusta accounting for approximately 95% of its annual output of 30.1 million 60kg bags.

Boncafé is competing with Nestlé in the HoReCa segment. The Swiss food and beverage company introduced the We Proudly Serve Starbucks Coffee programme in Vietnam in July 2022.

The programme is available within Vietnam’s foodservice channels, primarily targeting office and hospitality locations.

Massimo Zanetti acquired the Boncafé Group brand for $85m in May 2014, including its production factories in Thailand and Singapore.

The Bologna-based coffee group also operates a coffee roasting plant in Ho Chi Minh City, which it opened in November 2014. The facility has an annual production capacity of up to 3,000 tonnes of roasted coffee.
