% Arabica opens its first drive-thru outlet in Asia

The Jakarta store is % Arabica’s first drive-thru site outside of Kuwait, where the specialty coffee chain has opened six outlets with the format since August 2020

% Arabica has opened a new drive-thru outlet in Indonesia – the first time the Japanese specialty coffee chain has adopted the store format in Asia. 
 

The outlet has opened at Golf Island PIK, a newly developed floating island entertainment resort in Jakarta. The site is % Arabica’s fifth outlet in the Indonesian capital and seventh across the southeast Asian country. 


% Arabica opened its first drive-thru site in Kuwait in August 2020 and has since opened five further drive-thru stores in the country. 


The Kyoto-based specialty coffee chain currently operates 171 outlets across 23 markets globally.  


In July 2023 % Arabica signed a franchise agreement with premium retail group SOHO Middle East to launch in France, Germany, Portugal and Greece. The coffee chain also has agreements in place to open stores in Hungary, Jordan, Spain, Mexico, Turkey, Egypt and Nepal.
