Boutique café brand EL&N will open its first outlet in South Africa at the Mall of Africa on 24 August 2023.
The Johannesburg store will take EL&N’s global presence to ten countries and represents the boutique brand’s third new market this year following debuts in Bahrain and Malaysia.
London-based EL&N currently operates 32 stores, including 12 outlets in the UK and seven in Saudi Arabia.
EL&N is reportedly seeking new investment to ramp international outlet expansion as it seeks to reach 200 stores within five years.
The café group is also expected to launch in India this year after signing a franchise agreement with Mumbai-based Reliance Brands. Additionally, EL&N is seeking to expand its presence at international travel hubs via a partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail.
Other coffee chains at the 130,000sq m Mall of Africa include Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Cinnabon and Tashas.
