Caribou Coffee has refreshed its loyalty programme and launched a new Caribou Coffee app which it said will provide customers with more control over their ordering experience.

The Minnesota-based chain, which operates over 730 stores across 10 countries, said the new app will allow consumers to save their favourite customisable orders and most frequently visited stores. The app can be used to pre-order beverages for in-store, drive-thru or curbside pickup.

The app is available to all visitors but Caribou Perks members can share rewards with friends and check-in to earn and redeem reward points at each visit. Points can also be earned via online purchases.

World Coffee Portal research found that preferences that gained popularity during the pandemic, such as pre-ordering, delivery and drive-thru, are set to remain across the branded US coffee shop market.

Project Café USA 2023 alos reported an increasing appetite for iced-beverages, product customisation and the notable proliferation of espresso-based beverages among younger consumers in the country.

Caribou Coffee is part of the Panera Brands portfolio of companies, which also includes Panera Bread and Einstein Bros. Bagels. The JAB Holding business unit collectively operates more than 3,500 stores and employs approximately 110,000 staff across 11 countries.
