Pret A Manger USA has announced a new franchise partnership with Dallas Holdings to expand its US presence in New York and California. 
 

Dallas Holdings, which is also a franchise partner for the coffee and food-to-go chain in the UK, will open its first Pret A Manger store in Hudson Yards, New York, in the first quarter of 2023. 

Further stores will follow in California, with Los Angeles and Orange County slated as potential locations. 

Pret A Manger entered the US market with a store in New York in 2000 and currently operates more around 80 outlets across the US. 

“We’re very excited to be expanding into California next year with the help of Dallas Holdings. We’ve been seeing steady growth week-over-week as customers and businesses continue to return to the office. This shift has aided in our recovery efforts and even our coffee orders have now surpassed pre-pandemic levels. We believe this is the right time to identify new partners to help us enter new markets where we know there is a demand for Pret,” said Jorrie Bruffett, President, Pret A Manger North America. 

Alongside outlet expansion, Pret A Manger has also developed its digital proposition in the US with the introduction of is coffee subscription, app-based pick-up and digital loyalty rewards. 

In September 2021 the company announced plans to double the size of its global business within five years, utilising franchise partnerships to enter at least five new markets by the end of 2023. 

Pret A Manger, which operates approximately 550 stores worldwide, launched in Canada, India, Ireland and Kuwait this year, with franchise plans agreed to also launch in Spain and Portugal in 2023. 
 

Dallas Holdings, which has offices in Leicester, UK, and California, US, first entered a franchise partnership with Pret A Manger in November 2021 and operates eight UK stores.
