European food and beverage vending machine operator Selecta Group has partnered with fintech company Fiserv to provide contactless payment on vending machines and smart fridges across Europe from summer 2021.
The solution from Fiserv will support payments with global and local card schemes and mobile apps at the point of sale, according to Selecta.
“Whether buying a beverage or a meal in the workplace or on-the-go, consumers are looking for modern, cash-free and contactless payment options,” said Christian Schmitz, CEO of Selecta Group.
“With Fiserv we will be able to deliver these options in a way that is easy for us to manage, through a single solution, while unified reporting will give us a new level of insight into our business,” added Schmitz.
Selecta Group provides food and beverage vending solutions for workplaces, travel hubs and public spaces across Europe. In the coffee vending segment, Selecta operates partnerships with Starbucks, Lavazza and Pelican Rouge.
The company also has its own Miofino coffee brand, which is specifically formulated for vending machines.
Selecta promotes that it serves beverages and snacks at 475,000 points of sale to more than 10 million people in 16 countries across Europe, including the UK, Sweden and France.
US-based Fiserv is a global technology provider for the financial services industry. The fintech has 100 million digital banking users and processes more than 12,000 financial transactions per second, according to the company’s website.
