Krispy Kreme announces shock name change 


Krispy Kreme has announced its transformation into ‘Krispy Skreme’ for the Halloween season, launching a new Haunted House Collection and in-store offers throughout October. The promotion, which began across US stores on 10 October, offers consumers a custom dozen box of doughnuts, including Boo Batter Doughnut, Spooky Spider Doughnut and Scaredy Cat Doughnut products. US customers visiting a Krispy Skreme store dressed in a Halloween costume on 31 October will receive a free doughnut of choice. 
 

illycaffè masters the art of coffee  
 

Italian coffee roaster illycaffè was the official global coffee partner of the Frieze London contemporary art fair, which took place from the 12-16 October 2022 in Regents’ Park. Extending its brand partnership with the world of contemporary art, illycaffè used the event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the illy Art Collection, an initiative which invites international artists to display their work on the iconic illy cups. This year, illy presented the new collection designed by Pascale Marthine Tayou, which celebrates African landscapes. The illy Art Collection will be available from 24 October 2022 from the illy e-shop, its cafés, select retail outlets and contemporary art museums globally. 
 

Weddings and coffee find perfect match at Bluestone Lane 
 

US boutique café group Bluestone Lane is celebrating peak wedding season in the US by partnering with wedding specialists Zola to offer free coffee for New York’s wedding guests. With Zola expecting 22 October 2022 to be the busiest day of the year for weddings, customers who show either a wedding invitation or a website from any couple who tied the knot or are getting married this year can pick up a free coffee at any of Bluestone Lane’s 25 New York locations on the day.  
 

Tully’s Coffee gives its menu the magic touch 


Japan’s Tully’s Coffee is relaunching its Harry Potter Magical Coffee Time collaboration from 28 October 2022. The coffee chain, which operates more than 750 outlets across Japan, is promoting new Harry Potter Mince Pie Latte and Harry Potter Mince Pie Milk Tea beverages, alongside a food menu inspired by characters and events in the Harry Potter series. The collaboration will also see Tully’s Coffee Japan sells Harry Potter merchandise across select stores, including branded clothing, cups and mugs. 
 

Roasty Buds Coffee spices up the daily grind with arcade game 


Texas-based Roasty Buds Coffee, which retails chilli coffee, including Carolina Reaper Pepper and Ghost Pepper blends, has launched a new online game titled ‘Roasty Buds: A Recipe… for Trouble’. The free online arcade-style game invites customers to play as one of the mighty Roasty Buds beans dodging traps and obstacles to reach a grinder before they ‘gleefully grind themselves in to spicy and smooth’ coffee. Co-Founder Louis Montemayor said the company, which launched in July 2022, was keen on a “brand tie-in game” and hopes it will appeal to “coffee lovers and gamers with a soft spot for classic arcade games.”
