M&S Food Marketing Director Sharry Cramond has been given the additional role of Director of Hospitality, a position which includes responsibility for M&S’s 339 in-store coffee shops.

In a social media post, Cramond said she looked forward to the prospect of combining hospitality oversight with her food division marketing role given the ‘huge opportunities for growth’.

In 2021, M&S said that ‘hospitality represents a sizeable chunk of its trading space in the UK’. The company reports M&S Cafés as selling over 36 million hot drinks a year.

M&S has sought to further develop its food and hospitality offer in the last year. In November 2021, M&S Food announced a new collaboration with the UK’s largest coffee chain Costa Coffee to create Costa Coffee Now Serving M&S Food.

The partnership sees M&S supply more than 2,500 Costa Coffee stores with an array of takeaway products from salads to sandwiches.

In February 2022, M&S announced the roll out its Sparks coffee rewards programme across the UK, where, via the M&S App, customers are rewarded for purchasing hot drinks at an M&S Café – with every seventh drink free.
