The premium bakery concept currently operates 97 sites, predominantly in Denmark with key expansion targets in London and New York City.
The Danish bakery chain has appointed former Costa Coffee UK & Ireland MD, Jason Cotta, as its new CEO with a view to focus on the brand’s international growth and expansion.
Ole & Steen, which trades as Lagkagehuset in Denmark, currently operates 97 boutique stores across Europe, including 11 in London, and opened its first New York site earlier this year. The company was acquired by investment firm Nordic Capital in 2017.
Commenting on plans for further international expansion, Chairman Henrik Brandt said, “We look forward to welcoming Jason Cotta to Ole & Steen and its many talented and passionate employees. Jason, with his considerable industry experience and international profile, will be able to contribute significantly to the next stage of growth of the business with the further internationalisation of Ole & Steen.”
