Dunkin’ Donuts to expand to The Netherlands
American coffee shop chain Dunkin’ Donuts has signed a master franchise agreement with Dutch financial holdings company, Amba Daoud B.V., to begin opening Dunkin’ Donuts coffee shops in The Netherlands.
The franchise agreement calls for the development of 25 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants across The Netherlands over the coming years. Dunkin’ Donuts currently operates 12,000 locations in 45 countries, including 240 in Europe.
The drink offerings in the Dutch locations will include hot and iced espresso-based drinks, filter coffee, teas and Dunkin’s Coolatta frozen drinks. The food menu will offer croissants, donuts and sandwiches as well as regional menu items to cater to local tastes.
‘We feel Dunkin’ Donuts’ value proposition of high-quality espresso beverages, coffee and baked goods served at a great value will resonate well with Dutch consumers,’ said Nabil Besali, CEO of Amba Daoud B.V. ‘We’re looking forward to bringing the brand to our guests across the Netherlands, with an initial focus on the Amsterdam area.’
Allegra World Coffee Portal predicts the branded coffee shop market in the Netherlands will grow at 6% p.a. over the next 5 years and observes further potential for market entry from other global players.
