UK-based premium chocolate and coffee chain Knoops has said it is on track to double turnover and store count this year following record sales in January 2024. 
 

In a press release, Knoops reported 23% like-for-like revenue growth across its 15 outlets last month, while online sales rose 163% compared to January 2023.  

The figures follow Knoops’ best December on record, when like-for-like store revenues grew 24% and online sales increased 187%. The premium chocolate and coffee chain credited its brand partnership with Warner Bros. film Wonka – which included bespoke beverages and a themed makeover of its Covent Garden store – as key to its strong festive sales. 

Knoops will open two stores in Edinburgh in March 2024, followed by its first outlets in Leeds and Nottingham. The brand is seeking to reach 200 UK stores by 2027, led by outlet growth in major cities and university towns. Knoops also plans to expand internationally within the next 12 months.

Over the last three years to December 2023, our revenue has grown almost 12 times from our base year in 2020. We couldn’t be more delighted with the trajectory of the business and are now putting an experienced and ambitious team in place for our next phase of growth,” said William Gordon-Harris, CEO, Knoops. 

In November 2023 Knoops closed an £8.3m ($10.4m) investment round led by London-based department store group Morleys Stores Limited. Alongside facilitating outlet growth, the funding will also support Knoops develop its ‘multi-channel offer’, including a new app and an expanded at-home product range.
