Shipley Do-Nuts has appointed former Smashburger executive Brad Reynolds as its new Chief Financial Officer.

The Texas-based bakery café chain said Reynolds’ appointment comes as the brand posts record sales and outlet growth.

In the third quarter, Shipley Do-Nuts' online and delivery systemwide sales reached record levels, with year-to-date annual sales the highest in the company’s history.

The coffee and donut operator, which has approximately 350 stores across 12 US states, expects 2023 to be a record year for new store openings.

Shipley Do-Nuts has also announced that experienced restaurant executive Chris Smith joined the company in September 2023 as Vice President of Operations, with responsibility for franchisee success.

“We have big goals for Shipley, and Brad’s and Chris’ experiences with successful franchise systems will be a strategic advantage for us as we focus on building even more new units, increasing shop sales and developing best-in-class operational systems for our franchisees. This is a pivotal time in Shipley’s 87-year history as we continue to modernise the brand and expand our footprint across the US,” said CEO Flynn Dekker

Shipley Do-Nuts launched a new loyalty programme, Do-Happy Rewards, during the quarter which enables members to accumulate points on their purchases, with rewards ranging from free donuts to $0.99 coffees. The app, which also allows for streamlined online ordering for pickup or delivery, has gained more than 60,000 members to-date.
