UK-based Lavazza Professional has acquired Scottish vending machine operator SV24-7 Vending for an undisclosed sum. 
 

SV24-7, a Clackmannanshire-based family business with more than 60 years’ experience in the vending industry, primarily provides vending and office coffee services for the Scottish education, healthcare and government sectors. Alongside a range of bean to cup and instant self-serve coffee machines, SV24-7's wholesale division provides coffee, tea, milk, sugar and coffee cup packaging to customers across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Tayside. 

Lavazza Professional said the acquisition bolsters its national vending presence, which primarily comprises its KLIX & FLAVIA vending machines, and will cater to rising demand for micro markets across Scotland. The company said micro markets – unmanned retail spaces where consumers can purchase food and beverages – have grown in popularity amid a rise in hybrid office working.

World Coffee Portal research shows the total UK premium vending and self-serve coffee market exceeds than 20,700 units. The segment is led by Costa Express, with 13,200 units, followed by Absolute Coffee and We Proudly Serve Starbucks.
