Dubai-based Saddle Café has opened its first international store in Cannes, France.

Founded in 2017 as a food truck serving specialty coffee and food to-go, Saddle Café has grown to 11 outlets across the UAE.

Saddle Café becomes the only Emirati branded coffee chain currently in France’s 3,750-store branded coffee shop market.

The Cannes outlet precedes planned Saddle Café stores in the UK and Saudi Arabia in September and October 2023 respectively.

“Saddle’s France opening brings the UAE’s rich culture, hospitality, culinary excellence, and specialty coffee onto a global stage. This international expansion is a testament to Saddle’s wide appeal, and we are honoured to share our tradition with the world,” said Saddle Café Founder Mohammed Al Falasi.

France is the fourth largest branded coffee shop market in Europe, behind the UK, Germany and Russia.

World Coffee Portal research forecasts the market will exceed 4,200 outlets by 2028, with increasing consumer demand for specialty coffee expected to lead market development.
