Massimo Zanetti Beverage (MZB) Group has opened the first Segafredo Caffè in China at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

Launched in partnership with Tour Gourmet United (Shanghai) Catering Management Co., Ltd., the Italian coffee chain joins Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Dunkin’ and Hope Kaweh inside the airport’s terminal 2.

“This new launch exemplifies our continued commitment to offering a rich, global coffee experience. We're thrilled to bring our signature coffee and a taste of Italy to one of the busiest airports in the world,” said Csaba Salamon, CEO of MZB Service, MZB Group’s franchising division.

Shanghai Pudong is one of the ten largest airports in the world and China’s busiest international travel hub. Pre-pandemic passenger numbers exceeded 70 million annually between 2017-2019, but fell by more than 55% in the following years as both domestic and international travel were restricted by China’s zero Covid policy.

MZB operates 20 Segafredo Caffè stores globally, including in Egypt, where MZB launched three stores at Cairo Airport in June 2023, Japan, Palestine and Italy.
